On Tjörn, in Röra, along the Stigfjord, ( Stigfjorden is an inland sea in miniature between Orust and Tjörn and is connected to the sea by narrow but navigable straits to the west and east) lies this nice cottage. Despite the fact that the house is of the smaller kind, there are large social areas. Here you can have a happily holiday with your family.

THE COTTAGE
You enter a hall and directly to the left you will find three bedrooms and a bathroom with shower & WC.
To the right is the kitchen and living room in an open floor plan. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable holiday.
A large dining table is also available adjacent to the kitchen area. The living room has a sofa, armchairs and a wood-burning stove. From here you exit out into the glazed outdoor room. A beautiful spiral staircase with wrought iron rails leads down to the ground floor.

BASEMENT
In the basement there is a large living room with sofa & TV. Behind the beautiful stone-clad wall is an extra sleeping area with one single bed.
On this level there is also a room with washing machine, clothes rack and a wash basin.

Other
In the house there is a folding extra bed, a high chair for children and a gate to the stairs if you have toddlers with you. Free firewood is available if you are eager to light a fire some chilly evening.

THE SURROURANDINGS/GARDEN
The house has a large & lovely plot for games, and there are games like kubb (also known as Viking Chess), badminton racks etc. to borrow.
Around the house there is lovely nature and fantastic views from the mountain.

BEACH
Just 2 -3 minutes’ walk from the house there is a nice natural beach, with a jetty for crab fishing and a smaller jumping tower. Usually, only those who live nearby use this beach so you don’t have to worry about crowds. The beach is facing west, so pack a basket with something good to eat & drink a nice evening & go down and enjoy the sun setting in the sea. Nice summer memories to pick up in a cold & grey November!

If you want more life and action, there are several nice bathing areas between 0.8 – 2.0 km away. Here is the map to Röra “Rump“, “Butt” beach.
Two of the beaches can be reached on nice bike paths. Bikes are actually very nice to bring to Tjörn. Here you can cycle from the house all the way to Skärhamn (13 km) or Stenungsund (17 km) on almost exclusively nice & safe cycle paths. In some places you can ride a little bit on a busy road, but the rest is a cycle path or a dirt road.

TJÖRN
An excursion to the Säby kiles nature reserve is a wonderful trip. Here is Bohuslän’s largest pasture land in old agricultural environment, and in the shallow waters many fish & seafood have both playground, nursery & pantry! A variety of bird species benefit from the rich aquatic life and you can see a lot of unusual birds here. When you get tired of nature you stop at Sörgårdens Interiör & Café for a good cup of coffee under the trees in the garden. In the store you will find lots of cozy, beautiful and stylish gadgets, gifts & clothes.
Pilarne, oin a unique art experience. Every summer a sculpture exhibition with world-leading artists is arranged in the middle of the Bohuslän cultural landscape

The traditional Sundsby Säteri on the island of Tjörn is not only about history, its kitchen garden and footpaths through stunning scenery. There is also a restaurant here with very good meals and home-baked cakes in the courtyard café. In the summer you can buy freshly baked bread in the farm shop. They serve excellent “fika” (Swedish for coffee and pastry, coffee can be substituted with other beverages) and different honey products are for sale. Do not miss the watercolor museum in Skärhamn, and after the visit you can buy fresh seafood home to feast on. Climb up Tjörnekalv and you are rewarded with a breathtaking view – in the distance you can see Marstrand’s fortress. Or take the boat to picturesque Åstol with its densely built houses in old traditional style.

ORUST
Pilgrimsleden on Orust is eight mil long and connects eight churches. It runs in a loop and forms an eight. see link for Fun on the island. Göksäter where you find lots of cheap and “good to have things”. Töllås sheep farm has a wonderful cafe, where also you can buy vegetables from the garden plot. Tavlebods honey farm, shows in a very educational way how bees live and make honey. There is also a café with good coffee and honey candies to buy. A day trip to Gullholmen or Kärringön is a must, the ferries go from Tuvesvik.
