THE SURROUNDINGS
Rossön which is a narrow peninsula on southern Orust. Surrounded by water on three sides, you are close to several nice bathing spots. The peninsula is part of the nature reserve Rossö and here you can find both linnea & orchids. The beach meadows attract lots of different bird species, maybe you will see a single snipe! Rossön has fantastic nature, lots of rocks and small coves to discover. Here there are plenty of walking paths and lookout points with several bathing spots to choose from.

THE COTTAGE
The small cottage has most things you could need during a holiday week, kitchenette, toilet and shower.
Big terrace for cozy breakfasts or a barbecue evening. Bring a coffee basket and walk down to the sea. The sea is in three directions. Here are small natural coves, one more public bathing area with jetty, small beach, cliffs and small jumping tower, as well as one that has a pebble beach.

To the sea and cliffs it is not further than 400 meters, but where it is too shallow to swim.
The public bathing areas are 700 meters from the cottage, or you are looking for your own cliff where you can soak up the sun for a day.

Bring your bikes, and you can cycle to the bathing places, or to Varekil, where there is Ica, a flower shop, where it is about 6 km. From Varekil you can then cycle on cycle paths to Skåpesundsbron, the bridge that connects Orust & Tjörn. If you want to cycle even further, you will continue to Sundsby manor, on small gravel roads and paths.

An excursion to Säby kiles nature reserve is a wonderful trip.Here is Bohuslän's largest pasture in an old agricultural environment, and in the shallow waters many fish & shellfish have both a playground, nursery & pantry! A variety of bird species benefit from the rich aquatic life and you can see a lot of unusual birds here. When you are tired of nature, you stop at Sörgårdens Interiör & Café for a good coffee under the trees in the garden. In the shop you will find lots of cozy, beautiful and stylish gadgets, gifts & clothes. Do not miss the Watercolor Museum,
Sundsby manor on Tjörn you can go on a guided tour and then eat something good in the café. In the carp pond next to the manor, frogs, toads, newts and many different insects thrive here. there are also hiking trails and caves in the mountains.
